Giacomo Bologna Barbera d’Asti AI SUMA 2006. This is really fantastic, with concentrated blackberry and oyster shell on the nose. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a rich, opulent finish. Still reserved and firm. An Excellent fruity, class Barbera. Top score 91
Giacomo Bologna Barbera d’Asti BRICCO DELL’UCCELLONE 2006. Sweet berry pie aromas, with cream and milk chocolate. Full body, with lovely fruit and a light jam and vanilla aftertaste.
Giacomo Bologna Barbera d’Asti MONTEBRUNA 2007. Medium-bodied, with fresh acidity and spices, followed by dried cherry and berry on the finish. Soft and generous but in a reserved style.
Giacomo Bologna Monferrato IL BACIALE’ 2007. Offers note of violet and berries, with hints of toasty oak and coffee. Medium-bodied, with delicate tannins and a fruity finish. A little finer than the 2006. An interesting blend of Pinot Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (with 60% Barbera).
