Braida di Rocchetta Tanaro (Asti) will be at Vinitaly in Verona (7 – 10 April 2019) in the usual spot: stand N4 – pavilion 10 Piemonte.
We will be tasting both young wines and important Barbera reserves: the best of the Piedmontese winery’s production, with the new vintages and a few previews.
Limonte Grignolino and La Monella Barbera del Monferrato 2018 are distinguished by freshness: Limonte represents the grape variety more and more as each year goes by, with a pleasant impact, deeply lingering taste and very persistent tannin structure. The highlights of La Monella are its bouquet, filled with scents of fresh fruit, and its drinkability.
With the 2016 vintage, Il Bacialé, the wine on which Giuseppe Bologna has worked constantly since 1994, reaches the heights of excellence in terms of structure, body, elegance and expression. From this edition, Barbera, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are joined by Cabernet Franc, with its balance, drinkability and clearly defined scents.
Montebruna 2016 is characterised by the scent of an exceptional vintage for our Barbera d’Asti, with all the riches and elegance of refined spice, and a full, deep mouthfeel.
The great potency of the 2016 vintage bursts forth in Bricco dell’Uccellone: it is intriguing in the nose and keeps its promises on the palate, with lingering persistency.
In Bricco della Bigotta 2016 we recognise fine spice, sensory compactness and excellent definition; a delicious syrupy note predominates in the nose and in the mouth.
Last year we were able to enjoy our beloved Ai Suma and that experience is repeated again this year with the fabulous 2016 vintage: rich, concentrated and very expressive.
The Langhe whites
The Serra dei Fiori project was launched in 1988, from a partnership between the Bologna family and brothers Renzo and Valerio Giacosa.
The vineyards of this estate breathe in the air of the Langhe from above, at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level. We are in Trezzo Tinella, just a few kilometres from Barbaresco and Alba. This is where Braida’s white wines are born: wines that reflect the temperament and tenacity of the men and women that live in these areas, which have been included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
This year’s offerings from the Serra dei Fiori estate in the Langa area are particularly pleasant aromatic and mineral white wines, La Regina Nascetta 2018 and Il Fiore Langhe Bianco 2018.
The 2018 harvest gave Vigna Senza Nome Moscato d’Asti and Brachetto d’Acqui a deliciously aromatic nose and a palate laced with finesse.
A sip of Grappa invecchiata di Bricco dell’Uccellone 2015 (in that year Bricco was awarded Three Glasses by Gambero Rosso, Four Vines by the AIS, Five Bunches by the FIS and the platinum seal of the Merano Wine Award) will bring our day to a worthy end.
